Wilmington gas eases to about $3.23 after May’s $4-plus peak

Wilmington regular gas stood at about $3.23 on June 25, 2026, unchanged from June 18. That is down about 21.0%, or roughly $0.86, from the May 16 peak of about $4.09.

The most recent six local prices averaged about $3.41, compared with about $3.98 for the prior six — a drop of about 14.4%. The lowest mark in the available span was about $2.45 on December 22, 2025.

For context, AAA put the national average for regular gasoline at about $4.15 as of September 5, 2026. That national figure is current as of early September, while the Wilmington prices end on June 25, so the local price should not be treated as today's pump price.
