Wilmington Police to Host First Drone Day Event on April 25

The Wilmington Police Department will hold its first annual "Soar Into Safety" drone event on April 25 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the department's location. The event is free and open to the public.

The program will feature live drone demonstrations, information on how drones are used in public safety operations, and opportunities for attendees to speak with officers and drone operators. A tour of the WPD museum will also be available.

The department described the event as a family-friendly experience with STEM-related activities for children. An ice cream cart from Lil's Ice Cream will be on site. The department said it is still accepting drone vendors interested in participating.
