Donald Menzies Reid, Jr., of Wilmington, North Carolina, died peacefully surrounded by his family on January 30, 2026. He was 88 years young. Don is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Christina Taylor Reid; his daughter, Christina Daerr Reid of Raleigh; his son, Donald Menzies Reid III of Wilmington, his wife Suzanne, and their son, Donald Menzies Reid IV; his daughter, Katherine Reid Reeves of Raleigh. He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald Menzies Reid Sr. and Leona Drewry Reid, and his son-in-law, Ralph Bernard Reeves III.

John was born on March 19, 1966 at Dover Delaware Air Base. He passed away at home after a lengthy illness on January 26th. John spent 4 years in the Air Force at Luke Air Force Base in Phoenix, AZ. He worked for Verizon Wireless as a service technician for 20 years until his retirement. John leaves behind his mother, Elaine Tiganella and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Lawrence Arthur Bonney, often referred to as Larry, entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior on January 27, 2026 at age 81 after suffering a heart attack on the pickleball court. A five-sport athlete at Westminster College and retired FBI Special Agent with 25 years of service, Larry served on the Hostage Rescue Team and was known for training Jodie Foster in The Silence of the Lambs. A Celebration of Life will be held at Pine Valley Methodist Church in Wilmington on Saturday, February 7, 2026 at 11:00AM.

Wayne Ross passed quietly in his home surrounded by those who loved him dearly. He was the son of George and Gloria Ross. Survived by his wife DeeAnn, Step son Geoff and Erin Ring Kornegay, and granddaughter Vivienne. Wayne started his own company, Coastal Produce, in 1994 and retired in 2023. A Life Celebration will be held on February 22, 2026 in his home, 1000 Cheryl Lane, Wilmington NC from 1-5pm.

She later married Max Wunderlich and they shared passions for golf, skiing, and global travel. Joan is survived by her children Michelle Collins, Sherry Hallenbeck, and Patrick Brennan; grandchildren and siblings.

Barbara Midgie Brawley passed away peacefully on January 27, 2026 after a long battle with Alzheimers Disease. A native Mecklenburger, she was born in Charlotte to Joseph Howard and Mamie Wilson. A graduate of Presbyterian Hospital School of Nursing, she was a corporate nurse and Employee Assistance Director at First Union for 25 years. She leaves behind her daughter Martha Ann McConnell and son William Moore Brawley II.
