Local Legend (and Isaac Brock’s Ego) Hits the Lake
Listen up, Wilmington. If you’ve been waiting for a reason to dust off your beat-up Chuck Taylors and pretend it’s still 2004, your ship has finally come in. Portland’s own indie-rock stalwarts, Modest Mouse, are making their debut at Greenfield Lake Amphitheater this summer—and honestly, it’s about time.
The band is rolling into town on June 9 as part of their spring tour. They’re eventually heading to Bonnaroo on June 14, but we get them first, so try to look cool, okay?
The Vibe Check
Isaac Brock and his rotating door of bandmates have been staples of the "I’m deeper than you" music scene since 1993. While we’re still collectively mourning the 2023 loss of co-founder Jeremiah Green, the current six-piece lineup is still churning out that frantic, melodic chaos we love.
Whether you’re a die-hard fan who knows every B-side or the person who only knows "Float On" from a middle school dance, this show is basically mandatory. Their last album, The Golden Casket, dropped in 2021, so expect a mix of the new stuff and the classics that fueled your teenage angst.
